 updated 7/17/10 Beach Billboards for All!Sept/Oct is still pretty much wide open and I am eager to keep this place filled so I am going to sweeten the pot with a limited-time offer: If you book a minimum of four nights during the below dates, I will create for you a 2-hour custom beach billboard - FREE. We design. I build/carve. You photograph (or hire a professional.) And arrange for the models and/or props. Use it for your Christmas Card; post it on your facebook page; propose to your girl/boyfriend or wish your parents happy anniversary with it. SandCastle Lessons Though my lovely beach cottage may already booked for the dates you were hoping for, there is no reason why you can't still learn how to build a better sand castle while you are here. We (the SPI Sons of the Beach) have a whole crew of qualified instructors ready and willing to help you have more fun on the beach forever. In addition to the private, by reservation sandcastle instruction I have been offering for over 20 years, I am now offering inexpensive, regularly-scheduled sandcastle workshops at the end of my street (Access #16) at 3 PM every Mon., Wed. and Fri. all summer long. (Of course, residents of the SandBox always get free or seriously reduced lesson rates.) Music & Art at the BeachThe buzz is building - the SandBox Inn of South Padre Island is a great place to play great music, and the word is spreading! I have been receiving multiple emails a week from muscians eager to play in the 'Box. House concerts will resume in the fall when thing slow down a bit. I Like Rocks. Rocks and Driftwood.

The SandBox is located within easy walking distance of • Blackbeards - Indisputably one of the best places to eat on the Island - full bar, burgers to steak to Mexican to seafood • Beach Access “Neptune Circle” - half a block from the house - public parking, chair and umbrella rentals • La Dulce Roma - espresso and gelato • Shopping - Two big T-shirt/souvenir shops plus "One Particular Harbor" - really nice gifts and clothing NEW and they rent bikes! • The Big Donkey - Mexican restaurant with killer margaritas -- owned by the same folks who run the rabidly popular Daddy's and Dirty Al's! • Paulino's - Family-run Italian • Island Grill - friendly, local cuisine, full bar and occasional live music • Wanna Wanna beach-front Palapa Bar & Grill - Try the fried shrimp basket and catch the Bongodogs on Saturday nights and "Port O Call" (blues and more) on Friday nights all summer long.
